The BMS/Pfizer American Thrombosis Investigator Initiated Research Program (ARISTA-USA) is established to fund innovative medical research from investigators in the United States
ARISTA-USA is a competitive grants program. ARISTA-USA’s mission is to encourage the generation of new data to improve patient care for those requiring oral anticoagulation treatment, specifically with apixaban, in relevant disease areas for approved indications or areas of unmet medical needs or special interest.
A total of $3,000,000 will be used to fund 5−8 individual research proposals up to $800,000 each, as ranked by the external review committee.
Proposals will be reviewed by an external multidisciplinary, Independent Review Committee that will be composed of renowned, US-based experts in thrombosis and related diseases and two patient representatives, one each for nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and venous thromboembolism (VTE). Proposals are reviewed based on area of interest, originality, scientific merit, and feasibility.
